… I want to use the addition as a sun room , but being a 2 bedroom home maybe a 3 rd bedroom would add more value?

How can I inexpensively heat my sun-room year round & justify the $$ to a squeeky spouse? ?

Left wall to neighboring townhouse
Roof above
Back wall to my living room with double French doors
Screened porch below
Angled 1/2 glassed front wall
Modified large triangle 23 x 10 with a SW exposure
I – and my plants – would like to make this a 4 season room instead of a 3 season room! We now use an oil filled radiator just to keep it above freezing.
wood floor – NOT TILED – At least not yet!
I hear there are new modular units that can be put down under tile or wood – has anyone used them?

Thickness of insulation to make a sunroom become a 4 season room? How much do the size and # windows affect?
Filed Under Decorating Remodeling | 1 Comment
Trying to add insulation/rebuild walls of sunroom to turn it into a room that can be us year round.
Room is 13′ x 16′
Currently have 9 large windows (35″ x 64″) which will be replaced with new double insulated windows. Can reduce the # of windows and sizes also.
Located in Pennsylvania.
Have heat/ac and ductwork already run to room.

what is cheaper? an open heater sun room or a regular addition?
Filed Under Decorating Remodeling | 2 Comments
We want to add a living space on the back on our house. Could be a regular addition, or a sun room; However, if it is a sun room we would like to have it heated (insulated) and we would like no door between the back of the house and the soon roof (like an opening to that room instead of a door).
What would be easer and cheaper for us? the sun room or the regular addition? thank you so much!!!

I need something that will do well with a lot of sun, yet something that looks nice and colorful.
