sunroom
Shri asked:

We are planning to build a 16′X22′ sunroom. Wondering if foundation or slab is needed. Contractors are advising pluses/minus of both approaches. What should we do?

a 4″ slab will be fine as long as it is only one level. If a second story is added, the additional weight would need further support. Proper expansion joints should be used for a slab of this size to controll or prevent cracking.

The block foundation to the housea slab will be attached to the block foundation to keep it will rise and fall with the housea slab will rise and fall with the house so would opt for the block foundation to keep it from moving independently of the block foundation to keep it from moving independently of the housea slab will.
