He lives between my roof and sun room the sun roof has a metal roof so i hear him all night. How do i get rid of him without shooting him.

   Call a critter ridder that will get them out then plug up their entryway

   We do not have raccoons where i live so i don’t know it this will help but it may be worth a try.
   Mix peppermint & spearmint oil 50/50 soak cotton balls in the mixture & place cotton balls in the affected area .
   This repels rats & mice & may help with your raccoons.

   If you are really upto it this method i am sure will work.

   place some whitewash (or a cheap thin water based paint) in a container mix in 6 eggs & blend it up .
   Leave mixture in the sun for a day until it smells bad .
   Pour mixture into a spray bottle (cheap trigger sprayer as you most likely won’t want to keep) & spay affected area with the mix .
   The animal should leave .
   Please note this mixture will leave a permanent stain & not smell nice so be carefull.

   Note you can also spray this onto your plant to stop animals eating them but make sure it is a light spray

   PS You may want to use a mask
