I’m trying to think of possible advantages and disadvantages to hanging on to it/jettisoning it that might not be so obvious right now.
(We have storage space, but either in unheated mud/sunrooms, or a damp cobwebby basement, for what that’s worth.)

Well I’d keep it just in case. Something might happen to where you’ll need it. If you don’t think so, have a rummage sale or donate it to a re-sale shop.
i would hang onto the big things and get rid of the small things. even though storing them can be a hassle it can get expensive to have to buy them again. and if you have room, why not! and the general rule is if there is 4 or more years between kids then its o.k. to have another shower so you could get new stuff to. i guess its up to you and what you want to do with it.
